„When they were still here ...”

This year the village fête in Steinsfurt took place on June 13 and 14, 2015. We organized an exhibition in the Verwaltungsstelle under the heading „Als sie noch unter uns waren ... ”

Our exhibition shows photos, which were collected by our – sadly now deceased – member Helmut Frank (1927 - 2013). He tried to find the names of all persons on these pictures.

We reproduce his annotations verbally. These remarks were important to him and his interview partners. Of course not all of them are up to date any longer.

The pictures show that Jewish adults and children were in the Kindergarten, in the school and in clubs – without any problems ◊.

There were more than 100 visitors and we had interesting talks. Of course the main attraction for old Steinsfurt inhabitants were to search and recognize their grandparents, parents or even themselves.
