A 3D-walk, produced for the Citizen Award 2019 of the Denkmalstiftung Baden-Württemberg
3D-Walk (2019)
The music was recorded in the Steinsfurt synagogue during a concert on October 19, 2019. Dorothee Memmler plays traditional nigun.
The Denkmalstiftung Baden-Württemberg asked Mr. Kindermann to produce a 3D-walk for the synagogue. They have kindly consented that we can use it here.
Enjoy!

Before this Synagogue
It is only partly known what was before the extant synagogue. But we have collected some information
Beit Knesset
The synagogue was built in 1893/94 and used by the Israelitic community of Steinsfurt until 1938.
After the Sale
There was no Jewish congregation in Steinsfurt after the war. So there was no question of restitution. The new owner continued to use the synagogue as store room for agricultural goods.
Finally the synagogue was declared to be a historical monument. By now restoration has begun. The intention is to have a „Monument for Peace”
