Lights against Darkness

On Monday, January 27, 2020 6pm at the Synagogenplatz, the place at the Steinsfurt Synagogue, which is a remembrance place for the victims of the Nazi regime.

75 years ago the Auschwitz Concentration Camp was liberated. This is nearly a lifetime ago.

The year 1945 was not only the end of Nazi rule but also the beginning of a 75-year period of peace for most parts of Europe. It is important to keep that always in mind.

Students of the denkmal aktiv AG of the Wilhelmi Gymnasium, who are going to take their Abitur this year, have been in Auschwitz from January 16th till January 22, 2020.

They were sharing their newly acquired thoughts, experiences, encounters and conclusions during this hour of remembrance.
This is how they want to create light so that there will never again be such darkness.

With our action we were part of the project "Lichter gegen Dunkelheit (Lights against darkness)"
